Slam Tilt: Interview with Tim Sexton, Raymond Davidson, and Dean Grover
Last week Stern Pinball’s Tim Sexton, Raymond Davidson, and Dean Grover joined the Slam Tilt Pinball Podcast – here are just a few highlights!
On getting the Led Zeppelin license:
Tim Sexton: So we got the license – well it was kind of like a fingers crossed, we think we’re going to get the license. So Steve [Ritchie]…after Black Knight, Steve has to go onto his next game. And [Stern] was like we think we’re going to get Led Zeppelin here. And…I don’t know what happens [in the licensing department], they were like ok we got Led Zeppelin.
On Stairway to Heaven
Tim Sexton: As part of getting Led Zeppelin, we had pre-sent a collaborate song list that a lot of people had a hand in…there was no Stairway to Heaven, that was off the table from the get-go. I’ve seen a lot of people speculating that Stairway of Heaven may appear in the game…sorry guys, I just want to put the kibosh on that, Stairway is not coming…it is not really available for reasons I don’t even know…
On being able to add the Expression Lighting to the Pro
Tim Sexton: People that are getting their Pros will see that there is a plug covering the routing on the side of the cabinet. So eventually we’re going to release a kit that you can upgrade your Pro with those Expression Lights.
They also talk about Jody Dankburg licensing Led Zeppelin, their involvement in the game, talk about the light show integration with the songs, Dean talks about his work with The Pin titles, they talk about Stern manufacturing and the challenges with COVID, talk about arcades that have been affected with COVID and arcades getting Led Zeppelin, talk about the songs in the game, talk about the Expression lighting, talk about the art blades, talk about the multipliers in Led Zeppelin, talk about the importance of playing and seeing the game in person, talk about the Electric Magic Device and the features on that, talk about streaming the game live, and much more.
