Museum of Pinball Closing
In some sad news, we’re hearing that the Museum of Pinball in Banning, California is closing its doors and the pinball machines will be auctioned off.
The Museum of Pinball reached out This Week in Pinball a couple weeks ago, as they had shared with TWIP there were “rumors” being spread and that they wanted to do an interview to clear things up. We sent them questions and followed up but did not hear back.
At this point, it appears they are going up in smoke and the building will now be leased out to a company that will be growing cannabis.
A huge thank you to John Weeks and Chuck Casey on making the collection available to the pinball public over the last several years!!

Note: The folks that help run INDISC, a huge event that used to be held at the Museum of Pinball, made an announcement that they are trying to secure a new location for 2022.
Kaneda’s Pinball Podcast: Interview with Spooky Pinball
The Spooky Pinball crew joined Kaneda’s Pinball Podcast last week! Here are just a few highlights:
On the Halloween/Ultraman layout originally being designed for a John Wick theme:
Spooky (Luke): It was supposed to be John Wick…I was a John Wick fan to start with, Chuck watched it afterwards. And Corwin watched John Wick for the first time a while back…
On switching the John Wick design to Halloween/Ultraman:
Spooky (Corwin): …the reason – even though we were designing the game based around John Wick, the reason it works and how we could make it into Halloween and Ultraman is that we weren’t afraid to take out half of it, if that is what it took to make the theme work…there’s nobody who was so stuck on one thing being in the game no matter what that we were able to implement what we thought was the most important things into the game, regardless of what we had already placed.
On what they changed from the John Wick design:
Spooky: Basically the two upper playfields would have been the Intercontinental hotel, for sure. As far as the Michael’s popping out from the hedges…that would all be him in the shooting scenes and body guards popping up or whatever.
On the first stream:
Spooky: I’ve been talking to Jack Danger…first stream we’re looking towards the end of the month, the end of July. But I’m hoping to get gameplay footage to people out before that.
They also discuss:
- the Ultraman license
- the website issues on launch day
- doing two games on the same design
- on how they came up with the number of games, that they wanted to over reach a bit
- that they feel really confident they can get them all built in the timeframe (“under promise, over deliver”)
- listening to feedback on podcast and forums
- the Halloween theme and the horror community
- dealing with false information on podcasts and forums
- playfield quality issues they had with Total Nuclear Annihilation and correcting that
- their interaction with the community on Pinside
- the future of Spooky Pinball
- a few hints on the new TNA 2.0
- Stern getting Godzilla
- pinball prices
Also worth mentioning that at the end of the podcast, Kaneda (bizarrely) said he’s still going to “spoil your releases and leak stuff”, which Charlie then addressed.

Follow the Deadpool 3M’s to get that score
Modes:
You start each ball with a battle qualified. Just get it in the scoop to select which character you want to fight. Select Sabertooth first to get an easy win by hitting the orbits to get it into the pops. Make sure to get it back in the scoop to finish the battle and get those Final Shot points. You can qualify another battle by hitting all of the “Dead” targets on the left.
Multiballs:
The quick multiball is at the Lil’ Deadpool. Knock down enough drops in front of Lil’ Deadpool to be able to hit the standup target behind them. You have to hit the standup twice for the ball to get locked. When the second ball is launched you just need to hit the Lil’ Deadpool drops to unleash 2 ball multiball. Hit jackpots at Lil’ Deadpool then at red lit shots. This is a great multiball to help defeat Juggernaut so try to start a battle first.
Lock three balls in the katana at the shot that goes across the playfield to the back ramp. You have to hit the “Pool” targets on the right to light each lock after the first. This will start Ninja Multiball. Hit the lit shots for jackpots and then back to the katana for the super jackpot.
Multipliers:
The playfield multiplier is increased at the SNIKT shot. To hit the SNIKT shot your have to hit the target just right of the center spinner and ricochet the ball left up the back ramp. This will give you a time limited multiplier that can be increased with another hit of the SNIKT shot.
